Responsibilities
Patient Access Team Lead - Urgent Care job responsibilities include:- Lead the Patient Access team to ensure exceptional patient experience and adherence to service standards.
- Drive key metrics (Callbacks, Bedside, NPS, RQA, etc.) and manage daily operations.
- Oversee benefit verification, patient check-in/out, and collection of copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles.
- Create and manage the Patient Access schedule, cover shifts, and ensure proper staffing.
- Train, mentor, and assist in hiring new team members; complete 90-day reviews.
- Implement and enforce Patient Access policies and procedures.
- Reconcile daily cash, credit card receipts, and patient deposits, handle downtime procedures.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards.
- Resolve patient concerns, de-escalate conflicts, and maintain a welcoming, patient-focused environment.
- Support leadership in managing staffing, training, and workflow processes.
Skills & Qualifications
Patient Access Team Lead - Urgent Care required skills & qualifications include:- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2-4-year college degree in Business, Accounting, Medical Administration or related area preferred
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical office setting
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supervisory or lead role preferred
- Familiar with health insurance and the insurance verification process.
- Patient Registration/Medical record system experience needed.
- Must be computer literate (Word, Excel Outlook)
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and to prioritize multiple demands effectively
- Exceptional communication skills and customer service is required
- Solid work history
- Be flexible with hours, as staffing of 24/7 units may require flexibility
